As the water continues to foam, patiently wait for it to come to a boil. The foam may seem intimidating, but as soon as the water starts boiling, immediately remove the pot from the heat source.
Draining and Rinsing:
At this point, you’ll notice that the water looks somewhat green due to the chemical reaction between the baking soda and the beans. Don’t panic; this is perfectly normal. Simply drain the beans and give them a thorough rinse under cold water.
