Apple Honey Tarts with a Buttery Crust

Ingredients
For the Crust:
230-240 grams all-purpose flour
50 grams sugar
80 grams butter, cold and cubed
1 egg
3 tablespoons milk
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Pinch of salt
For the Filling:
2 medium apples, peeled and sliced thinly
1 teaspoon butter
2 tablespoons sugar
1 tablespoon honey
For Baking:
Preheat oven to 180°C (356°F). Adjust baking time as needed based on your oven.
Instructions
Step 1: Prepare the Tart Crust
In a large mixing bowl, combine 230-240 grams of flour, 50 grams of sugar, and a pinch of salt. Whisk these dry ingredients together to ensure they are well mixed.
Add the cold butter cubes into the flour mixture. Using your fingers or a pastry cutter, work the butter into the flour until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. The butter should be distributed evenly but not fully incorporated.

Add the egg, vanilla extract, and milk to the mixture. Stir until the dough just comes together. If the dough is too dry, add an extra teaspoon of milk, a little at a time, until it binds.
Once the dough is formed, wrap it in plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 10 minutes to allow the butter to firm up. This step ensures a flaky, buttery crust when baked.
Step 2: Prepare the Apple Filling
While the dough chills, peel and core the apples. Slice them thinly into even pieces, about 1/8-inch thick.
