Ham and Cheese Puff Pastry

Ingredients
1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
4-6 slices of deli ham
4-6 slices of cheese (e.g., Swiss, cheddar, or Gruyère)
1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
1 tsp Dijon mustard (optional)
1 tbsp sesame seeds or poppy seeds (optional, for garnish)
Instructions
1. Preheat the Oven:
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
2. Prepare the Puff Pastry:
Roll out the puff pastry on a lightly floured surface into a rectangle, smoothing any creases.
If using mustard, spread a thin layer over the surface of the puff pastry.
3. Add Ham and Cheese:
Lay slices of ham evenly over half of the puff pastry, leaving a small border around the edges.
Layer slices of cheese on top of the ham.
