Ingredients

1 sheet of thawed puff pastry (about 250g)
150g (5oz) ham, thinly sliced ​​or diced
150g (5oz) grated cheese (cheddar, mozzarella or your favourite)
1 tbsp Dijon mustard (optional, for flavour)
1 egg, beaten (for glaze)
Sesame seeds (optional, for garnish)
Instructions
Preheat the oven:
Preheat your oven to 200°C (400°F). Line a baking sheet with baking paper.
Make the puff pastry:
Roll out the thawed puff pastry on a lightly floured work surface.
Spread a thin layer of Dijon mustard over the pastry (if using).
Add Ham and Cheese:
Spread ham slices evenly over half of puff pastry.
Sprinkle grated cheese over top of ham.
Fold and Seal:
Fold other half of dough over ham and cheese to form a rectangle.
Press edges firmly to seal. Use a fork to crimp edges for a decorative touch.
Cut and Prepare:
Using a sharp knife or pizza cutter, cut dough into squares or rectangles.
Place pieces on prepared baking sheet.
Egg Wash:
Brush tops of dough squares with beaten egg for a golden finish.
Sprinkle sesame seeds on top for added texture and flavor (optional).
Bake:
Bake in preheated oven for 18 to 20 minutes or until puffed and golden brown.
Serving:
Let cool slightly before serving. Enjoy warm!
