Ingredients:
For the Beef Skewers:

1 1/2 pounds (680 g) sirloin steak or flank steak, cut into 1-inch cubes
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
For the Teriyaki Marinade/Sauce:

1/2 cup soy sauce
1/4 cup brown sugar
2 tablespoons honey
2 tablespoons rice vinegar
2 tablespoons mirin (optional, for added sweetness)
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated
1 tablespoon sesame oil
1 teaspoon cornstarch mixed with 2 tablespoons water (for thickening, optional)
