These are my husband’s weakness; he falls for them every time.

This cheese toast pairs wonderfully with a fresh garden salad or a warm bowl of tomato soup, making it a delightful addition to a light lunch or dinner. For a heartier meal, serve it alongside grilled chicken or a juicy steak. It’s also a great snack on its own, perfect for a cozy afternoon with a good book or a family movie night.

Ingredients
4 slices of thick white bread
1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese
1/2 cup of softened butter
1/4 teaspoon of garlic powder
Directions
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
In a mixing bowl, combine the softened butter, shredded cheddar cheese, and garlic powder until well blended.
Spread the cheese mixture evenly over one side of each slice of bread.
Place the bread slices on a baking sheet, cheese side up.
Bake in the preheated oven for about 10 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the edges are golden brown.
Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before serving.
Variations & Tips
For a bit of a kick, try adding a pinch of cayenne pepper or a dash of hot sauce to the cheese mixture. If you have picky eaters, you can use a milder cheese like mozzarella or Monterey Jack. For a more gourmet twist, sprinkle some chopped fresh herbs like parsley or chives on top before baking. You can also try using different types of bread, such as sourdough or whole grain, to change up the flavor and texture.
