The whole family devoured these cookies. I’m definitely making a double batch next time!
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and baking powder. Set aside.
In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
Beat in the egg, vanilla extract, and almond extract until well combined.
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined.
Stir in the sour cream until the dough is smooth and soft.
Scoop tablespoon-sized amounts of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
Bake in the preheated oven for 8 to 10 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden.
Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
Variations & Tips
For a festive touch, consider rolling the dough balls in colored sugar before baking. You can also add a hint of citrus by incorporating a teaspoon of lemon or orange zest into the dough. If you prefer a slightly crispier texture, bake the cookies for an additional 1-2 minutes. For a fun twist, try adding mini chocolate chips or chopped nuts to the dough. These cookies can also be decorated with icing or sprinkles once cooled, making them perfect for holiday celebrations.
