In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, remaining sugar, and salt.
Add the eggs, milk mixture, and softened butter. Mix well to form a soft dough.
Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead for about 10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise for 1-2 hours, or until doubled in size.
2. Make the Cream Filling
In a chilled bowl, whip the heavy cream with sugar and vanilla extract until soft peaks form.
Refrigerate until ready to use.
3. Shape the Bread
Once the dough has risen, divide it into equal portions (depending on the size you prefer).
Flatten each portion into a circle, place a dollop of the cream filling in the center, and fold the dough over the filling, sealing the edges tightly.
Arrange the filled buns on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, leaving some space between them.
4. Proof and Bake
Cover the buns with a cloth and let them rise again for 30-40 minutes.
Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F).
Brush the buns with egg yolk for a shiny finish.
Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
5. Finish and Serve
Let the buns cool slightly before dusting them with powdered sugar for a decorative touch.
