Strawberry Delight Dessert
Step 1: Make the Graham Cracker Crust
In a medium bowl, combine the graham cracker crumbs, granulated sugar, and melted butter. Stir until the mixture resembles wet sand.
Press the mixture evenly into the bottom of a 9×13-inch baking dish. Use the back of a spoon or the bottom of a measuring cup to press it down firmly.
Refrigerate the crust for at least 30 minutes to set, or freeze while preparing the other layers.
Step 2: Prepare the Cream Cheese Layer
In a large mixing bowl, beat the cream cheese and powdered sugar together until smooth and creamy.
Stir in the vanilla extract and gently fold in the whipped topping until fully combined.
Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly over the chilled graham cracker crust, smoothing it out with a spatula.
Place the baking dish back in the refrigerator while preparing the strawberry layer.
Step 3: Make the Strawberry Gelatin Layer
In a medium bowl, dissolve the strawberry gelatin in 1 cup of boiling water, stirring until completely dissolved.
Stir in ½ cup of cold water and let the mixture cool for about 10-15 minutes until slightly thickened but not fully set.
Gently fold the sliced strawberries into the gelatin mixture.
Step 4: Assemble the Layers
Carefully pour the strawberry gelatin mixture over the cream cheese layer, making sure the strawberries are evenly distributed.
Return the dessert to the refrigerator and let it chill for at least 4 hours, or until the gelatin is fully set.
Step 5: Serve
Once the dessert is fully chilled and set, garnish the top with additional whipped cream and fresh strawberry slices, if desired.
Slice and serve this refreshing Strawberry Delight Dessert!
Cooking Notes
Gelatin: Be sure to let the gelatin cool slightly before pouring it over the cream cheese layer to avoid melting the creamy filling.
Graham Cracker Crust: For a shortcut, you can use a pre-made graham cracker crust or use vanilla wafers as a crust alternative.
