Prepare the Salisbury Steaks: In a bowl, mix ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, chopped onion, minced garlic, salt, black pepper, and Worcestershire sauce. Form into 4 patties.
Cook the Patties: In a skillet, heat a little oil over medium heat. Add the patties and cook for 3-4 minutes on each side, until browned. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
Make the Gravy: In the same skillet, add butter. Sauté mushrooms and onion until softened. Add beef broth and Worcestershire sauce, stirring to combine.
Thicken the Gravy: Stir in the cornstarch-water mixture to thicken the gravy. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Combine: Return the patties to the skillet, spooning gravy over them. Simmer for about 10 minutes, or until the patties are cooked through and the gravy is thickened.
Serve: Serve hot, preferably over mashed potatoes, and enjoy!
