Ingredients
1 box puff pastry dough
1 lb frozen spinach (1 box)
1/2 pack cream cheese
1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
1 shallot, finely chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp black pepper
1/4 tsp nutmeg
1 egg yolk
Olive oil for cooking
Instructions
Prepare the Filling
Cook the Spinach: Thaw the frozen spinach and squeeze out any excess water. Set aside.
Sauté the Shallot and Garlic: In a pan, heat a little olive oil over medium heat. Add the finely chopped shallot and minced garlic. Sauté until soft and fragrant.
Mix the Filling: In a mixing bowl, combine the cooked spinach, sautéed shallot and garlic, cream cheese, shredded mozzarella cheese, salt, black pepper, and nutmeg. Mix well until all ingredients are thoroughly combined.
Prepare the Pastry
Roll Out the Puff Pastry: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Roll out the puff pastry dough on a lightly floured surface into a large rectangle.
Spread the Filling: Evenly spread the spinach and cheese mixture over the puff pastry dough, leaving a small border around the edges.
Roll and Slice: Carefully roll up the dough, starting from one of the long sides, to form a log. Slice the log into 1-inch thick pinwheels.
