Ingredients:
1 whole egg π₯
1 egg yolk π₯
300 g of type 1 flour π
20 g of cornstarch πΎ
150 g of soft butter π§
100 g of sugar π¬
1 teaspoon of baking powder π§
Grated zest of 2 oranges π
2 tablespoons of orange juice π
1 pinch of salt π§
For the filling:
250 g of Nutella or chocolate spread π«
100 g of flaked almonds π°
Method:
Preparation of the shortcrust pastry:
In a large bowl, beat the whole egg and the egg yolk with the sugar until obtain a light and frothy mixture. Add the soft butter and mix well. π
Then add the flour, cornstarch, yeast and pinch of salt, mixing until the mixture is smooth. Finally, add the grated orange zest and orange juice, to give a fresh and fragrant touch! π
Dough rest:
Wrap the dough in cling film and leave to rest in the fridge for at least 30 minutes. This will help make it easier to roll out and work with. βοΈ
Roll out and form the slices:
Once rested, roll out the dough on a lightly floured surface. Use a rolling pin to obtain a thickness of about 1 cm. π
Using a knife or a cutter, cut out slices of the shape you prefer, square or rectangular. If you want an extra touch, you can also make small round biscuits. πͺ
