Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
In a large skillet, cook the ground beef or turkey over medium heat until browned. Drain any excess fat.
Stir in the cream of mushroom or cream of chicken soup, mixing well with the cooked meat.
Add the chopped broccoli to the meat mixture, stirring until evenly combined. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Transfer the mixture to a 9×13 inch baking dish, spreading it out evenly.
Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese over the top of the meat and vegetable mixture.
Arrange the frozen tater tots in a single layer on top of the cheese.
Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until the tater tots are golden brown and crispy.
Let the casserole cool for a few minutes before serving.
Variations & Tips
For a spicier kick, add a teaspoon of chili powder or a dash of hot sauce to the meat mixture. You can also experiment with different types of cheese, such as pepper jack or mozzarella, for a unique flavor profile. If you’re looking to make this dish vegetarian, substitute the meat with a can of drained black beans or chickpeas. Additionally, feel free to swap in any of your favorite vegetables or use fresh ones if available.
