My grandmother loved flowers so she loved making these cakes. They were even better than they looked!

Ingredients:
4 red apples (such as Gala or Red Delicious)
Juice of half a lemon
1 sheet of puff pastry, thawed
2 tablespoons water
3 tablespoons apricot jam (any other flavor will work)
Cinnamon and sugar to taste
Icing sugar for dusting (optional)
Method:
1. Preheat your oven to 190°C (375°F). Grease a muffin tin with butter.
2. Cut your apples in half, then remove the core and seeds using a Parisian spoon or a knife. Slice the apples as thinly as possible, making sure you get even, consistent slices. To prevent the apple slices from browning, place them in a bowl of water and lemon juice. Make sure the slices are covered with water. Feel free to add more water if needed. Microwave the apple slices for 3 minutes to soften them a little.

Roll out the puff pastry on a lightly floured surface. Cut the puff pastry into thin strips about 3 inches wide. You should have enough for 6 strips.

4. In a small bowl, microwave the apricot jam for 30 seconds until smooth and runny.

5. Brush the puff pastry strips evenly with the melted butter. Spread a thin layer of apricot jam on each strip.

6. Arrange the apple slices slightly overlapping on the pastry strips, leaving them curved outwards to look like rose petals.

7. Sprinkle the sugar and cinnamon powder evenly over the apple slices.

8. Gently roll up each pastry strip from one end to form a beautiful rose shape. Place the apple roses on the prepared muffin tin.

9. Bake the apple roses for about 30 to 35 minutes, or until the pastry is golden brown and the apples are soft.
10. Once the apple roses are cooked, remove from the oven and let them cool on a rack. For an extra sweet touch, you can dust them with powdered sugar if you like.
11. Serve these delicious baked apple roses warm or at room temperature and enjoy the amazing combination of sweet puff pastry and the natural sweetness of baked apples.

Note: Best enjoyed soon after baking to ensure the pastry retains its crispiness.
Now wow your guests with this impressive and delicious baked apple roses recipe!
