Kadayif Stuffed Recipe

Prepare the Syrup:
In a saucepan, combine the sugar and water.
Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring until the sugar dissolves.
Reduce heat and simmer for about 15-20 minutes, or until the syrup thickens slightly.
Add the lemon juice and simmer for another 1-2 minutes.
Remove from heat and let it cool.
Prepare the Filling:
In a bowl, combine the chopped walnuts, sugar, and cinnamon. Mix well.
Prepare the Kadayif:
Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
In a large bowl, loosen the kadayif strands with your hands.
Pour the melted butter over the kadayif and mix well, ensuring all strands are coated.
Assemble the Kadayif:
Take a small handful of kadayif and flatten it in your palm.
Place a spoonful of the nut filling in the center.
Fold the kadayif around the filling, shaping it into a small roll or bundle.
Place the stuffed kadayif in a greased baking dish.
Repeat until all the kadayif is used.
Bake the Kadayif:
Bake in the preheated oven for 30-40 minutes, or until golden brown.
Add the Syrup:
As soon as you remove the kadayif from the oven, pour the cooled syrup evenly over it.
Let the kadayif absorb the syrup for at least 1-2 hours before serving.
Serve:
Serve the kadayif at room temperature, garnished with extra chopped nuts if desired.
Tips and Variations:

You can use different nuts or a combination of nuts for the filling.
For a richer flavor, you can add a tablespoon of rosewater or orange blossom water to the syrup.
Make sure the syrup is cold or room temperature when you pour it over the hot kadayif. This will help the kadayif absorb the syrup properly.
You can also add some ground cloves, or nutmeg to the nut filling for added spice.
For a different presentation, you can bake the kadayif in individual muffin tins.
Enjoy your delicious stuffed kadayif!
