I was worried my aunts’ baking secret was lost, but I luckily found it and it’s more delicious than ever!

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and 1/2 cup powdered sugar until light and fluffy.
Mix in the vanilla extract.
Gradually add the flour and salt, mixing until just combined.
Fold in the mini chocolate chips until evenly distributed.
Shape the dough into 1-inch balls and place them on the prepared baking sheet, about 1 inch apart.
Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the bottoms are lightly golden.
Allow the cookies to cool for a few minutes on the baking sheet, then roll them in powdered sugar while still warm.
Once completely cooled, roll the cookies in powdered sugar again for a beautiful snowy finish.
Variations & Tips
For a nutty twist, try adding 1/2 cup of finely chopped pecans or walnuts to the dough. If you’re a fan of spice, a pinch of cinnamon or nutmeg can add a warm depth to the flavor. For a festive touch, consider adding a few drops of peppermint extract to the dough or using white chocolate chips instead of regular ones. These cookies can also be made gluten-free by substituting the all-purpose flour with a gluten-free flour blend.
