4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
1 cup of your favorite salsa
1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or mozzarella works best)
Directions
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
Place the chicken breasts in a baking dish in a single layer.
Pour the salsa over the chicken, ensuring each piece is well coated.
Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through and no longer pink inside.
Remove the dish from the oven and sprinkle the shredded cheese evenly over the chicken.
Return to the oven for an additional 5 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
Variations & Tips
For a bit of spice, you can use a hot salsa or sprinkle some red pepper flakes over the salsa-coated chicken before baking. If you prefer a more Italian flair, substitute the salsa with marinara sauce and use mozzarella cheese on top. You can also add a variety of toppings like sliced olives, chopped onions, or even some avocado just before serving for a fresh twist. Don’t hesitate to customize it with whatever you have in your kitchen—this dish is very adaptable!
