Rice water
Rice water is a very good fertilizer for plants. Rich in starch and nutrients such as nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium, this liquid fertilizer promotes the growth of beneficial bacteria in the soil. This improves the photosynthesis process and stimulates healthy plant growth. Rice water is a quick-release liquid fertilizer especially recommended for plants that need to recover their nutrients quickly. You can apply it once a week, for 15 days, to achieve the expected results. Note that you can also use rice grains to fertilize your plants. To do this, sprinkle a tablespoon of rice into the potting soil of your indoor plants, around the stems. When you water the plants, the rice grains will swell and release starch into the soil, which will be used to nourish your plants.
Honey
Honey is also very beneficial for plants. In addition to its antibacterial and antifungal properties, honey is rich in essential nutrients for plant growth, such as phosphorus and potassium, but also iron, calcium, zinc, and magnesium. That said, you can use this natural ingredient to prepare a liquid fertilizer for your flowering and fruiting plants. To do this, dilute two tablespoons of honey in seven cups of hot water. Mix, let it cool, and then pour your liquid fertilizer into a bottle or jar. You’ll only need to use it to water your plants. In addition, thanks to its antibacterial and antifungal properties, honey can be used as a rooting hormone. To do this, when you take a stem for a cutting, dip the cut end in honey before transplanting it into the soil. Honey promotes rapid rooting of the cutting, thanks to its antiseptic and antifungal properties that stimulate root production.
