Honey Garlic Ribs

Step-by-Step Directions

Step 1: Prepare the Ribs
Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C) if you’re baking the ribs. Remove the membrane from the back of the ribs for more tender meat. Season the ribs generously with salt and pepper.

Step 2: Make the Honey Garlic Sauce
In a mixing bowl, combine the honey, soy sauce, brown sugar, minced garlic, apple cider vinegar, ground ginger, and red pepper flakes (if using). Stir well to mix all the ingredients.

Step 3: Cook the Ribs
Oven Method:
Place the seasoned ribs on a baking sheet lined with aluminum foil. Cover the ribs with another piece of aluminum foil to seal in the moisture. Bake in the preheated oven for 2.5 to 3 hours, until the ribs are tender.

Grill Method:
Preheat your grill to medium heat. Place the ribs on the grill and cook for about 1.5 to 2 hours, turning occasionally, until the ribs are tender and slightly charred.

Slow Cooker Method:
Place the ribs in the slow cooker and pour the honey garlic sauce over them. Cook on low for 6-8 hours or on high for 3-4 hours until the ribs are tender.

Step 4: Glaze the Ribs
Once the ribs are tender, remove them from the oven, grill, or slow cooker. Brush the ribs generously with the honey garlic sauce using a basting brush.

Step 5: Caramelize the Glaze
Oven Method:
Increase the oven temperature to 400°F (200°C). Return the ribs to the oven, uncovered, for an additional 10-15 minutes, until the glaze is bubbly and caramelized.

Grill Method:
Place the ribs back on the grill over medium-high heat for about 10 minutes, brushing with more sauce and turning occasionally until the glaze is caramelized.

Step 6: Serve and Enjoy
Remove the ribs from the heat and let them rest for a few minutes. Cut the ribs into individual pieces and garnish with fresh chopped parsley. Serve hot and enjoy!

Tips and Variations
Spicy Twist: Add more red pepper flakes or a dash of hot sauce to the honey garlic sauce for an extra kick.
Smoky Flavor: If using a grill, add wood chips to impart a smoky flavor to the ribs.
Chicken Option: Use the same marinade and cooking method for chicken wings or drumsticks.
Make Ahead: Prepare the honey garlic sauce ahead of time and store it in the refrigerator for up to a week.
Storing Leftovers
Leftover Honey Garlic Ribs can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat in the oven at 350°F (175°C) for about 15 minutes or until heated through. You can also freeze the ribs for up to 2 months; thaw in the refrigerator overnight before reheating.
