Homemade Stromboli

Filling:

1 cup marinara sauce
8 oz mozzarella cheese, shredded
4 oz pepperoni slices
4 oz ham slices
1 bell pepper, thinly sliced
½ cup sliced black olives
1 cup sliced mushrooms (optional)
1 egg (for egg wash)
Italian seasoning (optional)
Instructions:

Preparing the Dough:

In a small bowl, mix the warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until it becomes frothy.
In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour and salt. Make a well in the center and pour in the activated yeast mixture and olive oil.
Mix the ingredients until a dough forms. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until it’s smooth and elastic.
Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a kitchen towel, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1-1.5 hours until it doubles in size.
