Homemade Apple Pie: A Classic, Comforting Dessert 🍏🥧
This homemade apple pie has a flaky, buttery crust and a perfectly spiced apple filling. Serve it warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream for the ultimate treat!
🔹 For the Pie Crust:

2 ½ cups (315g) all-purpose flour
1 cup (230g) unsalted butter, cold and cubed
1 tsp salt
1 tbsp sugar
6-8 tbsp ice water
🔹 For the Apple Filling:

6 medium apples (Granny Smith, Honeycrisp, or your favorite)
½ cup (100g) sugar
¼ cup (50g) brown sugar
1 tbsp lemon juice
1 ½ tsp cinnamon
¼ tsp nutmeg (optional)
2 tbsp cornstarch or flour
1 tbsp butter (to dot on top of the filling)
🔹 For the Egg Wash:

1 egg + 1 tbsp milk (for brushing the crust)
👨‍🍳 Instructions:
1️⃣ Make the Pie Crust:

In a bowl, mix flour, sugar, and salt.
Add cold butter and cut it in with a pastry cutter (or use your hands) until it resembles coarse crumbs.
Slowly add ice water, one tablespoon at a time, mixing just until the dough comes together.
Divide into two discs, wrap in plastic, and chill for 1 hour.
2️⃣ Prepare the Apple Filling:

Peel, core, and slice the apples.
In a bowl, mix apples with sugar, brown sugar, lemon juice, cinnamon, nutmeg, and cornstarch. Let sit for 10 minutes.
