Directions:
Bread Layering: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). In a greased baking dish, layer 4 slices of bread on the bottom. Top with 4 slices of cheese.
Egg Mixture: In a bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper until well combined.
Pour and Layer: Pour half of the egg mixture over the bread and cheese. Add the crumbled bacon or sausage if you’re using it. Then, layer the remaining 4 slices of bread on top, followed by the rest of the cheese and the remaining egg mixture.
Bake: Cover the dish with foil and bake for 30 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes, or until the top is golden and the eggs are set.
Serve: Let it cool for a few minutes, then slice and serve. Garnish with fresh parsley if desired.
