Fairy kisses with Toffifee

Mix the flour and baking powder in a bowl. Add the sugar, vanilla sugar, egg and butter in small pieces.
Knead everything quickly into a smooth shortcrust pastry. Wrap in cling film and leave to rest in the fridge for about 30 minutes.
Prepare the dough:
Preheat the oven to 175 °C (top/bottom heat).
Roll out the shortcrust pastry (approx. 3 mm thick) and cut out circles (approx. 6-7 cm in diameter). Place the circles on a baking tray lined with baking paper.
Place the Toffifee:
Place a Toffifee in the middle of each dough circle. Caramel side down.
Prepare the meringue:
Beat the egg white with a pinch of salt until stiff. Gradually add the sugar and continue beating until a shiny, firm mass is formed.
Pipe the meringue:
Pour the meringue mixture over the Toffifee using a piping bag (or a spoon) so that it is completely covered.
Bake:
Bake the fairy kisses in the preheated oven for approx. 12-15 minutes until the meringue is lightly golden brown.
Let cool:
Let the fairy kisses cool completely before removing them from the baking tray. Tips:
Variation: Instead of Toffifee, you can also use Raffaello, Ferrero Rocher or other chocolates.
Decoration: For a festive look, dust the fairy kisses with edible glitter or powdered sugar after baking.
