In addition to being an annoyance, mosquitoes may spread a number of illnesses. You can make your home healthier and more pleasant by finding a safe technique to keep them away. You probably already have baking soda on hand, but it turns out to be a very effective cure!
Baking soda is why?
Sodium bicarbonate, more often known as baking soda, is a household staple for several reasons, including its ability to clean, deodorize, and bake. Additionally, it becomes a useful component in the fight against mosquitoes when used in a certain combination.
Methods for Constructing the Mosquito Scenario:
You just need a few basic materials to make this DIY mosquito repellent:
Soda for Baking
The one-and-only vinegar!
Instructions:
Whisk Together:
Find a bowl or a small dish.
Add 1 part baking soda.
(The liquid may foam up, so pour gently!) Add 1 part vinegar.
Set the Trap:
Moult the dish in places where you often see mosquitoes. Baking soda and vinegar combine to form carbon dioxide, which mosquitoes find appealing.
Update as Necessary:
The combination’s efficacy is short-lived (approximately a day), thus to maintain optimal effects, replenish the mixture everyday.
The rationale behind this strategy is that we are easy prey for mosquitoes because our exhaled carbon dioxide attracts them. Baking soda and vinegar combine to form carbon dioxide, which mosquitoes will find attractive and avoid. Because it doesn’t utilize the harsh chemicals that are in most commercial repellents, this approach is better for the environment.
