1. Make the Oreo Crust:
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
Crush the Oreos into fine crumbs, either by pulsing them in a food processor or placing them in a ziplock bag and crushing them with a rolling pin.
In a bowl, mix the crushed Oreos with melted butter until well combined.
Press the mixture into the bottom of a pie dish or tart pan to form an even crust. Use the back of a spoon to press down firmly.
Bake the crust for 8-10 minutes, then let it cool completely.
2. Make the Salted Caramel Layer:
In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat.
Add the brown sugar and stir until combined. Cook for 2-3 minutes, allowing it to melt and bubble slightly.
Carefully pour in the heavy cream (it might bubble up), and stir constantly until smooth.
Bring the mixture to a boil and let it cook for 1-2 minutes.
Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract and sea salt. Let the caramel cool slightly before pouring it into the cooled Oreo crust. Allow it to set for about 15 minutes in the fridge.
3. Make the Dark Chocolate Layer:
In a heatproof bowl, chop the dark chocolate into small pieces.
In a saucepan, heat the heavy cream over medium heat until it begins to simmer.
Pour the hot cream over the chopped chocolate and let it sit for 2-3 minutes.
Stir until the chocolate is completely melted and smooth. Add the butter and vanilla extract, and stir again.
Allow the chocolate mixture to cool for about 5-10 minutes before pouring it over the caramel layer.
4. Assemble the Pie:
Pour the cooled dark chocolate mixture over the caramel layer, spreading it out evenly with a spatula.
Refrigerate the pie for at least 3 hours, or until the chocolate layer is set and the pie is firm.
5. Garnish and Serve:
Before serving, sprinkle the top with a pinch of sea salt flakes to enhance the flavor of the salted caramel.
If you like, garnish with crushed Oreos or a dollop of whipped cream.
Slice and enjoy this rich, indulgent dessert!
Tips:
For extra crunch, you can sprinkle some crushed Oreos on top of the salted caramel layer before adding the dark chocolate layer.
If you prefer a sweeter pie, opt for milk chocolate instead of dark chocolate for the top layer.
This pie is sure to satisfy your cravings for something sweet, salty, and chocolatey all in one!
