Chocolate Cobbler

Preheat Oven: Preheat to 350°F (175°C). Place the unsalted butter in a 13×9-inch baking dish and put it in the oven to melt.

Make the Batter: In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar, 1/4 cup cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt. Stir in the milk and vanilla extract until you have a thick batter.

Prepare the Topping: In another bowl, combine the remaining 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar, 1/2 cup cocoa powder, and light brown sugar.

Assemble: Once the butter has melted, spread the batter evenly over it without stirring. Sprinkle the topping mixture over the batter. Carefully pour boiling water over the top without stirring.

Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 35-40 minutes, until the top is set and cracked but the center remains gooey.

Serve: Remove from the oven and let cool for 15 minutes before serving.
