Prepare the Cauliflower:
Begin by removing the stems and leaves from the cauliflower. Slice each cauliflower head down the middle. Then, move the knife about 1 ½ – 2 inches from the center cut and slice through to make a steak on each side. You should get two thick steaks per head. Set the remaining cauliflower aside for another use.
Season and Bake:
Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Place the cauliflower steaks on a baking sheet.
Brush each steak generously with olive oil and season with salt and pepper.
Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, turning halfway through the cooking time, until the steaks are tender and beginning to brown.
Add Toppings:
Remove the steaks from the oven. Spoon approximately three tablespoons of marinara sauce over each steak, then sprinkle evenly with the mozzarella and Parmesan cheeses.
Broil:
Set the oven to broil and return the steaks to the oven for another 4-5 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden spots appear.
Serve:
Remove the cauliflower steaks from the oven. Optional: Garnish with fresh parsley or basil for a fresh touch. Serve hot and enjoy!
