Carrot Bars with Maple Frosting

While the bars are baking, prepare the frosting. In a medium bowl, beat together the softened butter and cream cheese until creamy. Add the powdered sugar, maple syrup, and vanilla extract, and beat until smooth.
Once the bars are fully cooled, spread the frosting over the top. Garnish with a pinch of ground cinnamon and some carrot shavings if desired.
Cut into squares and serve.
