Candied Orange Peel Recipe ๐ŸŠ

Prepare Orange Peels: Peel the oranges, then slice the peels into strips.
Boil Peels: Place the peels in a pot and cover with water. Boil for 30 minutes, then drain. Repeat this process two more times to remove bitterness.
Make Simple Syrup: In a separate pan, bring 1 cup of sugar, 1 ยฝ cups of water, and salt to a boil. Add the drained peels and simmer for about 1 hour.
Dry & Coat Peels: Allow the peels to cool on a foil-lined baking sheet for 1 hour, then toss with 2 cups of sugar. Let them dry overnight (about 12 hours).

Tips:

For extra flavor, dip the candied orange peels in melted dark chocolate.
Store uncovered to prevent them from getting sticky, or if sealed, be ready to recoat with sugar.
