You know, I’m not a botanist or anything, but I love my plants. And there’s one in particular that I’m really fond of – my beloved mint plant, which grows right by our entrance. To be honest, I only planted it there at first because I wanted something green that would look good and wouldn’t die if I forgot to water it for a few days. Well, what can I say – it was the best decision I’ve made in a long time! Mint has since blossomed into a real little insider tip that I recommend to every friend.
Let me tell you why it’s become such a favorite of mine and what the mint can do in front of our house – you won’t believe it. So, pour yourself a cup of tea (preferably with mint 😉) and make yourself comfortable, I’ll just chat, just like I would tell my neighbor Gerda.
First of all – and this is really the best part:
That scent!
When I leave the house at 7:30 in the morning with the breakfast chaos still in my bones, I’m immediately greeted by this fresh mint scent. It’s like a little kick of freshness, like a menthol “Hello, wake up!” I sometimes stop for a moment, rub a leaf, sniff it, and take a deep breath. You immediately feel a little clearer in your head, you know? Not quite so fuzzy from getting up early or from all the stress of everyday life.
And when visitors come – well, there have often been surprised faces. “Wow, it smells so good!” my sister-in-law said recently when she was visiting with her new boyfriend. It makes you feel so much more at home, doesn’t it? I always say: The entrance area is the house’s calling card. And with mint as a scented invitation – what more could you want?
Second: The thing with the insects
