Classic Chili Recipe
Ingredients
1 tbsp olive oil
1 large onion, diced
2-3 jalapeño peppers, diced (or bell pepper for milder heat)
6 cloves garlic, minced
2 lbs lean ground beef
3 tbsp chili powder (adjust to taste)
1 tbsp ground cumin
1 tsp cayenne pepper (optional)
Salt and black pepper to taste
2 tbsp tomato paste
1 1/2 cups beef broth
1 (15 oz) can diced tomatoes with juices (fire roasted tomatoes are a great alternative)
1 (15 oz) can crushed tomatoes with juices
2 (15 oz) cans red kidney beans, drained and rinsed
Optional: Hot sauce, red pepper flakes, or any chili toppings (cheese, sour cream, cilantro, etc.)
