Bed bugs: what are they?
?You may be surprised to hear that they feed on blood even more than mosquitoes.
Because of their microscopic size and feeding behavior, bed bugs pose a serious health risk to people and animals.
They are most active at night and are masters at hiding in soft, dark corners and nooks. Bed bugs get their name from the fact that mattresses are perfect for their nesting needs.
Their small size makes them difficult to see with the human eye, but if you find them nibbling on your family members while you go about your day, you won’t miss a thing. Though innocuous, their bites may be rather unpleasant and can smell awful when accidentally killed.
?While mosquitoes are the most common vector for malaria, the bed bug’s blood meal makes us wonder what else it may bring into our bodies.
