1 package (1 pound) of saltine crackers
1 cup vegetable oil
1 packet (1 ounce) ranch dressing mix
2-3 tablespoons crushed red pepper flakes (adjust for spice preference)
1 teaspoon garlic powder
Directions
1. Preheat your oven to 250°F (120°C).
2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the vegetable oil, ranch dressing mix, crushed red pepper flakes, and garlic powder. Stir until well blended.
3. Add the saltine crackers to the bowl, gently tossing them until they’re evenly coated with the spice mixture.
4. Spread the coated crackers in a single layer on a baking sheet.
5. Bake for 15-20 minutes, stirring halfway through to ensure even baking.
6. Remove from the oven and allow the crackers to cool completely before serving. Store in an airtight container to keep them fresh and crunchy.
Variations & Tips
For a milder version, reduce the amount of crushed red pepper flakes or substitute with a milder spice like paprika. If you’re catering to garlic lovers, consider adding an extra teaspoon of garlic powder or using garlic-infused oil. For an extra zesty twist, sprinkle some lemon zest over the crackers before baking. And for those with dietary restrictions, gluten-free crackers work just as well in this recipe, ensuring everyone can enjoy these spicy delights.
